After seeing the disease take someone you love or hearing about it taking the loved one of a friend or distant relative, you probably wonder what causes cancer. While there are really only a few specific things which people should avoid at all costs, the other causes for cancer are about as varied as the number of colors in a rainbow. Poor diet, intake of carcinogens and a lack of exercise could all potentially have something to do with making the disease happen. Eating too much sugar, exposure to radiation and other conditions will all cause problems as well.
We already know some of what causes cancer to occur. Smoking has been proven by the state of California to cause birth defects and malignant growths in and around the lungs, hearts, esophagi and other sensitive fleshy parts of people’s bodies. Quitting smoking is one of the top things you can do to cut your risks of contracting cancer and if it’s already too late for that, cutting tobacco out of your life will do wonders to keep those nasty growths in remission. That’s when a cancer goes away but might come back and probably the best health a cancer patient can hope for.
Eating too many sugars both common and complex can have bad effects on your well being. This doesn’t just mean sugar as in the sweet, cubed stuff sold in 4 lb bags or little boxes. Feeding your body carbohydrates is great for instant energy, but
giving cancerous cells that much more energy to rapidly divide could actually kill you. As far as what causes cancer, this doesn’t really create the disease, but it will surely make the condition worse. If you find you’ve become the owner of a malignant tumor, you want to starve it if at all possible. Cutting out sugars can help stop cancer.
There are still more answers as to what causes cancer. Back when X-Ray machines were still new novel equipment people did not fully understand the risks and ramifications of prolonged radiation exposure. These days lead vests and shielding are often used when taking these pictures of bones, but not always. If you find your radiographer is about to snap some shots of you without suiting you up for the experience, tell them to stop and demand some protective clothing. Nothing could be worse than going to a doctor, a place you’re supposed to get better, then contracting a cancerous condition from malpractice.
If you’re still wondering what causes cancer, there are some reasons remaining to be explained. A poor diet can cause your initial growths to occur when your body doesn’t get enough of particular nutrients it needs. If you’ve never heard of goiters, they are a condition much like cancer where huge, bulbous growths in the neck and throat cause major disfigurement to people who doesn’t get enough iodine in their diets. This same principle of not getting enough of one nutrient or another can have equally adverse effects when your body is low on something else. Do yourself a favor and have a balanced diet.
A failure to get enough exercise could be another thing what causes cancer. If you don’t move around enough, the things you eat will be converted eventually into fat and stored for later use. This could result in you keeping some very bad things on your person in a fat deposit, where they can fester and become something much worse when you normally would have passed them on through without a care. If you aren’t going to start exercising more, perhaps eating less so you aren’t packing on fat is a fair alternative. If you get fat in the first place, you don’t hold onto anything bad.
